I have nothing to hide

Many people are not thinking about their privacy when using the internet. They forget that every little thing they do on the internet is saved forever and can be recovered if needed. Some people say they have nothing to hide, but if their google searches or emails were made public would there be embarrassing things? I like the saying "you don't have anything to hide until you need to hide it" because most people forget what people don't know about them. Also using credit card information and social security numbers on non secure websites is a huge red flag for identity theft but most people believe the websites are safe with no knowledge of the site. Im concerned about my privacy online because business employers could search my name and find pictures or even what I've searched on google.
